The College of Arts and Humanities invites students and faculty to attend a virtual conference that explores innovative approaches to integrating global and international perspectives into Humanities courses. The conference, organized by the International Studies Consortium of Georgia (ISCOG), of which JSU is a member, will take place on Friday, October 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Participants may join for the entire day or just individual sessions.
This conference will present the integration of global perspectives into English and History courses and aims to address this issue by discussing the following three questions:
- Why is Humanities more fundamental than ever before to our country’s successful global engagement?
- How does grounding in the Humanities prepare future citizens for effective service in the international domain and contribute to informed foreign policy?
- What might be done to best advance the study and application of Humanities in our institutions of higher education?
