Why did you decide to attend JSU?

I chose JSU because I received a full-tuition scholarship, and JSU is close to my family and hometown.

Why did you choose your major?

I chose English because it has always been my favorite subject and also the one that comes most naturally to me. Another factor that contributed to that decision was that I knew the reading and writing skills I would acquire in this department would put me at an advantage in law school.

What is your favorite thing to eat on/off campus?

On campus: Chick-fil-a / off campus: Baja

Favorite book/most recently read book?

The book I read most recently and enjoyed was Light in August, by William Faulkner.

What clubs/organizations are you involved in?

I joined the Model Arab League Debate Team and competed in the regional competition at Converse College in South Carolina. Additionally, I am a member of the English honor society: Sigma Tau Delta.

What is the coolest thing about your department?

The coolest thing about my department is my academic advisor, Dr. Reed!!

What are your post-grad plans?

After graduation, I plan on moving to New Orleans to attend law school at Tulane University.

Advice to students new-to-JSU?

If you are unsure about anything at all, do not hesitate to ask questions. All of the faculty and staff here at JSU are more than willing to help however they can.
