JSU Music Students Selected to Perform in Italy

Several students from the JSU Music Department were invited to participate in the highly exclusive TrumpetFest, an intensive ONE-week program for university trumpet players. TrumpetFest is a part of the Orvieto Music Festival, held in Orvieto, Italy. The Orvieto Musica festival, established in 1993, has become a notable and intimate chamber music festival over the past decade. It offers regular concerts in exquisite venues, providing a rich environment that inspires excellence among faculty and participants. The festival allows for a unique focus on artistry and virtuosity through daily master classes and interactions with guest artists and international peers.

The three-week event celebrates Italian culture from the 12th to the 21st century, featuring art, architecture, cuisine, and concerts. Highlights include underground caves, nearby beaches, UNESCO sites, and optional classes in Italian language, Quantum Sound Therapy, and culture, making the festival an unforgettable experience.

Orvieto Musica has hosted concerts across Umbria and the USA, with a faculty of internationally respected experts. These professionals, affiliated with prestigious institutions and orchestras worldwide, play a crucial role in the festival’s success.
